Karmaloop Boston Grand Opening Party at Underbar

Karmaloop Boston's ( 160 Newbury Street ) grand opening party at Underbar on Thursday, November 17 was dope!

Reebok was the chief sponsor of the event and Reebok folks were out in full force!  Red Bull and Triple Five Soul were additional sponsors of the two fabulous VIP sections where many of their respective crews were nesting around the small tables laden with bottles.

The venue was packed to capacity with musicians, skaters, break dancers, artists, sneaker and clothing designers, the press and some very low key athletes (David Ortiz and Willy McGuiness), as well as brand representatives, artists, designers, magazine publishers and other cool cats from NY, Los Angeles and Montreal. Attendees included: Doug Jaeger, Ben Nabors, Arnold Cruz, Matt Spangler and Christine Ahn all of The Happy Corp NYC; representatives from Modernista and Arnold Worldwide; Reebok's Brian Kelley; New Balance designer John Franklin; Barney Waters, Director of Marketing at Puma; Mike Steinberg and Alan Fernandez of Triple Five Soul, Brooklyn; Johnny Cupcakes; Mike Chung of Freshnessmag.com Hong Kong; Urb Magazine's Craig Kapilow; Hardip Manku and Zoum of Plain Jane Montreal; Summer Mathews of Boxfresh London; Lisa Shivak of Spiewak, NYC; Cobi Levy, CEO of Primp LA; Pro Skaters Eli Reed (Vehicle, UXA and DVS skateboards) and Jon Nickles (owner of Technical Board Shop); and legendary breakers Crazy Leggs, Fever One of the Rock Steady Crew and Lino Delgado of the Floor Lords. The night's entertainment was out of control… from the Eclectic Collective and Project Move to DJs Synapse (NYC) and Clinton Sparks ( awarded "Power Player Of The Year," the Global Mixx 2005 DJ Conference) they had the crowd going crazy.

Karmaloop videos and fashion slides and images from featured artists looped on a massive video screen reflecting off of the numerous Dunny ice sculptures, while hot dancers in even hotter (and miniature) outfits did their thing.   Finally, to add an air of high-culture to the evening, artists Jib Hunt, Shepard Fairey, Andy Howell and Josh Wisdumb all contributed pieces that were displayed around the space.

Thank you, everyone, for coming and making the party a great hit.
