As founding members of the underground artist collective Young Yacht Owners of America, Upperman and Taylor, who met in 01’ as designers, have made their name pushing the artist limits, collaborating on everything from exhibitions and coloring books like Black Nature. So when it came to establish the Off Bowery Limited look, all the former Akademiks and Ecko Untld. Designers had to do was color outside the lines again. “Art has always been the driving force of my life, “says Upperman. Incorporating my visual style onto fabric was an extension I what I was already doing.” The collection, hoodies, and tees emblazoned with all over floral prints and a polka dot has become a cult favorite selling out at hipster meccas.
