Chrome
Industries Messenger Bags, DJ and Shoulder
Bags
Chrome manufactures weatherproof messenger
bags, DJ bags and shoulder bags designed
for the long haul. For years Chrome messenger
bags, DJ bags and shoulder bags have been
overstuffed with vinyl, crashed, smashed,
trashed and slung recklessly worldwide by
couriers, DJs and others in the know.
In the summer of 1993 college friends Mark
Falvai and Doug Hudson went on a road trip
with the simple goal of riding the best
mountain bike trails and surfing the best
waves in North America . At some point during
the trip the idea for Chrome emerged: start
a company that makes clothing and gear for
people that didn't want to ride around in
shiny tight clothes but did want the functionality
of high tech gear.
Chrome emerged from a basement two years
later and moved thirty miles away to a large
warehouse in downtown Denver , where a full
sized half pipe and a good sound system
helped keep things in perspective after
a busy day's work. As the business
continued to grow messenger bag, DJ bag
and shoulder bag sales skyrocketed and the
decision was made to devote all of their
energy exclusively to bags.
In 2002, Chrome relocated to the SOMA area
of San Francisco . Shortly after arriving
they opened their first retail store chock
full of messenger bags, DJ bags and shoulder
bags at the corner of 7th and Folsom.
San Francisco 's size, location and overall
amazing quality of life allowed Chrome to
continue to grow and refine the bag line.
More importantly, however, now the
Chrome guys could go for a ride and a surf
all in the same day. FYI, they don't take
a messenger bag surfing.
