Free Gold Watch gathers inspiration from the two-bit hustlers of the planet that claw, tooth and nail, for survival, charming people with high doses of personality & charisma, and always having an angle. Furthermore we combine that with pervasive iconography from the corners of pop culture and beneath to which we dig up and re-flip. From the gritty sleaze-bag infomercials that dominates 4am television to Andy Warhols soup cansFree Gold Watch rummages through the cultural debris to create conceptual designs that force your vision thru another lens of perception.
FGW places this focus in conjunction with the pride of hand printed craftsmanship. As opposed to the more cost effective and widely used auto-press method of printing, we embrace the manual press, the human hand and eye, and the squeegee in order to produce a product that reflects qualities of human creation. In a society that is constantly moving towards machines, perfection, and the removal of human involvement, Free Gold Watch splinters off toward artistic rawness, imperfection and the preservation of man-made artistry.

Another important piece of the Free Gold puzzle is our connection and relationship to the dry cleaners . Our headquarters at 1798 McAllister St. in San Franciscos Western Edition was established in 2006 as the official factory and offices of Free Gold Watch. The building, prior to which for 30 years was a dry cleaning business, Fairway Cleaners. As businesses come and go and are buried beneath the next, we retain elements of the dry cleaning legacy and absorb Fairway Cleaners into our own brand. From cling posters on our windows, paper hangers, to polybagging customer walk-in purchases we find ourselves still upholding the purpose of all dry cleanersto keep our loyal patrons looking clean and creased up with freshly pressed garments.
