Back in the day when we were out delivering every imaginable object on a fixie on the streets of Toronto, we often wondered what we would end up doing in the future. We rode all day, partied all night and somehow attended classes in between all that chaos. After graduating from college we went out and got real jobs, only to find that these real jobs really sucked. So we did what we always did when times got confusing. Got back on the road and threw our cares to the wind. The freedom of the road always seemed to sort things out for us.
We figured that we should simply do our thing, simply for the love. There is no stronger motivational force than passion for what you feel strongly about. We were passionate about cycling, so we opened La Carrera Cycles back in 2002. We started off small, mainly servicing our messenger crew. But we believed that the key to our success was customer service. This belief enabled us to become the pit stop for many cyclists from different walks of life.
We recently moved to a new location at 106 Harbord Ave. in Toronto. We feature high-end bikes & parts, tech-wear & apparel from our house brand La Carrera, as well as SSUR, Recon and Subware. All items are displayed in a beautifully designed shop with custom wrought iron work, a fabulous Japanese Zen Garden back (in summer months), museum quality lighting & cabinetwork. We are also installing an espresso machine and we have rotating artwork on the walls by local & international artists in the cycling world as well as the street culture world.
