Introduced by the U.S. Rubber Company in 1916, Keds has grown to become one of the truly classic American brands of the 20th century. Internationally recognized for its collection of casual footwear, Keds is credited with being the brand behind the term "sneaker," which was the slang word Boston school kids applied to their rubber-soled Keds shoes almost a century ago. Keds constantly strives to develop new footwear technologies to increase durability and comfort, and has consistently stayed ahead of the curve. Although other brands and trends have come and gone, Keds have remained in style—something that isn't going to end anytime soon.
