Conceived in 1984 as a surfboard manufacturing company, it wasn't until 1992 that Insight launched its clothing line to complement its already-established board brand. Hailing from the land down under (Sydney, Australia) Insight's surf heritage is evident in its designs and garments. Founder, creative director, and ex-pro surfer Drew Down was passionate and adamant about creating a fashion-led lifestyle label that encompasses surf, skate, art, music, fashion, and popular culture. Insight's unique style has been termed "garage art," which takes pop culture and infuses it with street art motifs. Drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Jean Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, Insight is leaving their mark on the fashion world and is distributed to over 40 countries all over the globe.
