XLARGE, launched in 1991 in Los Angeles, offers a streetwear collection that includes tee shirts, tank tops, buttondowns, hoodies, hats, and other apparel and accessories. Created by Eli Bonerz and Adam Silverman, with help from Mike D. from the Beastie Boys, XLARGE aims to mix skateboard, art, and music cultures to create an original fashion style. From its humble beginnings as a single shop in downtown L.A., XLARGE has expanded to become a worldwide leader for streetwear, and can now be found from New York to Tokyo, and everywhere in between. XLARGE is often considered a less-expensive alternative to A Bathing Ape (BAPE), since both brands are known for using a gorilla or monkey logo on their shirts.
