Roxy Cottontail is the kind of girl books are written about. She came to New York with dreams, drive and a tube of lip-gloss ready to work her little Cottontail off and make people come together, dance and have a good time. From Baltimore to Philadelphia, she has been around the musical block picking up friends, acts and experience along the way. She helped establish Diplo and Low Budget, of the legendary Hollertronix party and helped kick start Spankrock’s rap career. Her skills, talent and varied tastes have helped her rise to the top of the promoting, DJing, hip-hopping and fashion worlds. Her signature style is part of everything she touches and has deep roots in punk, electro, dance, house, hip-hop, reggae and rock. Ms. Cottontail hosts her infamous Monday night party at Sway and the new Dance Class party at the Studio at Webster Hall. She also hustles, DJs and plans global events on a regular basis. A.  When did you know dj'ing was for you?

I knew DJing was for me when I felt the power of controlling an atmosphere

& vibe of a space through music. It's a power trip and I've always sought

the newest music first just on instinct. My mother is a retired music

teacher. We have a juke box in the livingroom full of 45s. I think it's in

my blood.

B.  What's with the rabbit references?

Maternal, mysterious, fast, crazy and cute! Whats not to love?

C.  3 style must haves in your closet?

Spandex
sequins
hooker boots

D.  3 things always in your purse?

1. Cash money
2. My Blackberry Bold - I like to call "My Blackbaby"
3. My Passport - Never know when a baller needs you to bounce somewhere.

E.  Words of advice for ladies who want to master their domain like you?

Don't be scared to take risks and always practice patience. Do you and don't listen to anyone else.

I'm extremely excited about my partnership with Hellz Bellz and a slew of other creative designers I admire. I think there is a void in womens fashion and I'm ready to fill it!
