Bar hopping is a no-brainer here, as an arena liquor license permits you to take your drink from one establishment (the debauched BAR Baltimore perhaps?) to the next (the old-school disco Have A Nice Day Cafe). Those looking to treat their palette also have countless choices: modern Cuban cuisine at Babalu Grill, Cajun cooking at Lucille's, pub grub at McFadden's.... The dueling piano bar Howl at the Moon and the comedy club Improv broaden options even further. Federal Hill
Overlooking the Inner Harbor, Federal Hill is a 10-minute walk from Harbor Place and well within walking distance of most downtown businesses. Tourists and visitors from other parts of the city flock here in good weather. Equally central to the neighborhood is the Cross Street Market and the surrounding business district on Charles and Light Streets. The city-owned market has stalls which offer a wide variety of food to be prepared at home, as well as takeout stands. Around it is a wide range of excellent restaurants, mostly moderately priced, a microbrewery and other taverns that specialize in craft beers. Check out the Thirsty Dog for the fabulous 2 for $3 pints brewed right in Baltimore, and be sure to try the Dirty Dog - it's always a crowd pleaser!
