6minLP: Boards Of Canada’s Tomorrow’s Harvest Condensed Into 6 Minutes

There’s a certain ethereal component of modern beat production that we can attribute to Boards of Canada, two Scotsman who literally dream about sounds, wake up, and then synthesize them in reality. As mysterious as they keep themselves, no one knows how these guys actually produce a record, but whatever the process is, it creeps forward at an approximate pace of one album every seven years. In fact, it’s been eight since the last one this time around. I’m a different man than I was in 2005–one with less time and even less patience, so I made this minimix so I can reach a higher metaphysical plane in just over six minutes… hopefully not in public.
