Azealia And Pharrell Get Colorful For “ATM Jam”

The whole world fell in love with Azealia Banks when she released “212.” She was somehow playful, quirky, nasty, soft, and hard at the same time. Suddenly thrust into the spotlight, we quickly discovered that she was a naturally controversial voice. Whether it be her open bisexuality, her penchant for white boys,  or her twitter-feuds with (ready?) Perez Hilton, Diplo, T.I., Lady Gaga, Iggy Azalea, A$AP Rocky, Nicki Minaj, and oh so many more, Azealia obviously did not give a fuck about what anybody thinks.

Her darkness/rage/outspokenness was captured perfectly in her follow-up video, Yung Rapunxel (which was produced by our very own LIL INTERNET). The insane video definitely lost her a lot of fans, but she made it obvious that she couldn’t care less about that–all that mattered to Ms. Banks was her integrity. Her profile description on twitter sums it up:

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” – Marilyn Monroe

With this new video, Azealia has taken a decidedly less controversial, more colorful approach. Teaming up with the homie Pharrell is a telling move–when’s the last time you heard P tweet anything offensive?

While we honestly think that anything Pharrell touches is gold, we’re not completely sold on Azealia’s verses on this joint. They feel… lazy. Unfinished.

Regardless of the song, the video itself is pretty dope, and obviously spent a long time in the editing room. All the crazy color-changing backgrounds and foregrounds with no green screen? That’s frame by frame, son. Not easy and not quick.

Let us know what you think of this new jawn in the comments below!
