We just can’t get enough of Chanel West Coast. Whether she’s blessing the crowd at our Freakathon, letting our viewers steal her style, or setting things on fire, she always pulls it off with an air of class. The first time we heard her track “Alcoholic,” produced by Rich Skillz we cracked and polished off a whole bottle of rye without even noticing. That led to a pretty deep blackout, and when we came to, it was three days later and it turned out we remixed it during our bender.
It’s all really just about boozing in the end, isn’t it? We caught Chanel just after one of her Grey Goose baths and asked her the first five things that came to mind. It was a pretty random conversation, but hey, we were shitfaced.
What is the best new thing happening in the world of Chanel West Coast?
I’m recording my very debut album. Really fuckin’ excited about that!
You were recently part of Karmaloop’s Freakathon. What was your favorite moment of the night?
My favorite moment was definitely performing. I love any chance I get to perform my music for people that don’t know about me musically and make more fans. Mad people tuned into my performance on the Freakathon and I got lot of love for it. I really liked the BBQ chicken pizza at the party too though… that shit was bomb. My favorite moment is def a tie between eating that pizza and performing.
Describe your new video to us in three words
Really. Fuckin. Drunk.
If you could compare yourself to any west coast rapper, living or dead, who would it be?
I hate to compare myself to anyone really but I’ve had people compare my flow to a female version of Tupac. As a personality, I’d say snoop thugh, ‘cuz we both are funny and love the trees.
You recently professed your love of snapbacks to us. What is the illest one you’ve seen recently?
The Just Don snapback by Hov’s collaboration with Barney’s. I need that ASAP.
