For all the anticipation that led up to it, I’m glad RAM is an epic saga. Daft Punk, a dance music outfit, stepped outside of their previous classification, garnering borderline irresponsible comparisons to Pink Floyd. Despite the classically disco-y single, the album proved to be more of a headphone listen, and the first time I listened to it, it occurred to me: this album is too fucking long.
From there on, I just listened for the juiciest bits of the record. I then went to work editing the entire record down to these finest moments, and voila–all the glory of Random Access Memories in six minutes.
