The Future Of NYC Rap Is Here In The Form Of Ratking [New Video]

In the late-2000s, it seemed like NYC rap was dead and gone. With most mainstream rappers trying to sound like they were from Atlanta and the underground scene not getting the shine it deserved, things were pretty quiet for a minute. Lucky for us, those days are a thing of the past and the resurgence of the “new New York” sound continues on.

Today we have NY trio Ratking, who drop a great video for their riot-inciting single, “Canal,” paying homage to the piss smelling, rodent infested train stop in the middle of Chinatown.  Featuring quick cuts which capture the madness of New York City pretty well, this video will definitely get Ratking the looks they deserve. Not to mention the song, which is pure energy from start to finish and we can definitely see this turning up the ante on stages across the US this summer. Click play to get a taste of NYC regardless of where you at and keep an eye out for these fellas.

Wiki is pretty dope, liking the grime influence on this track. Reminds me aesthetically of a young Company Flow
