Queen Bey Releases Her First Public Video For “Drunk in Love,” Featuring Jay Z

Last week, Bey rocked the world with her 14-track visual album, simply titled BEYONCÉ. To be honest, we had an inkling something was coming (being as we made one of the videos) but even we didn’t expect such an epic release out of the blue.

The new video for her song with hubby Jay Z, “Drunk in Love,” the first song to be released to the public via YouTube, shows Bey in a skimpy black-lace outfit, singing, writhing, rapping, and dancing on a dark beach. Jay pops in four minutes into the video, rocking about 50 gold chains with a glass of D’usse in hand. While there’s not too much PDA (the two barely make eye contact), you can definitely feel their chemistry. Two of the most powerful people in the industry, drunk, alone on a beach, straight chilling.

The video was directed by Hype Williams, arguably the most influential music video director of all time. As it’s the end of the year and everyone is in listicle-mode, we decided to throw together a quick list of our five favorite music videos by the legendary director. Did we miss any? Let us know in the comments.

1. Missy Elliot – “Sock It To Me”

2. Kanye West – “Heartless”

3. Busta Rhymes – “Gimme Some More”

4. The Notorious B.I.G. ft. Mase and Puff Daddy – “Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems”

5. Tupac ft. Dr. Dre – “California Love”

All hail Bey with this new shirt from Queen of Everything
