We’ve all seen Wiz Khalifa grow up in front of our eyes. From a young spitter out of Pittsburgh, to a stoner who could hit an occasional high note, to the latest Hollywood Hills version. Many people want to say he “fell off”, or he “sold out,” but we’re not quite ready to claim those yet. We would contend that he’s evolved, as many artists need to do remain relevant, and is still trying to find his footing in today’s landscape. Nah, we won’t comment on why he choses to wear leggings or have awkward face tats because we like to evaluate artists on their music alone.
When it comes to just the music, “We Dem Boyz” is a banger. Yeah, it’s simplistic, and somewhat cliche at times, but you cant’t be still when this song comes on a party, and that’s all that matters. For the visual treatment, Wiz recruits some of his homies, including Rich Homie Quan, Ty Dolla Sign and a few others we’ll let you find on your own. Not a radically different video by any means, but it get’s the job and and keeps in line with the song’s energy. We fux with it.
Before Wiz about this life, he was about #ThatLife on KarmaloopTV. Check out what we’re talking about:
